MSG and the entire network of partners and individuals who started to support the four babies born in Saint Francis’ Hospital have donated about 1000 Euro so far. The objective of this campaign is to let these children live, as we all feel this is a significant milestone in the history of the institution. It is not very often that a Zambian hospital delivers quadruplets and all in good condition.
The father to the children is Iback Lungu aged 35 years and the mother is Lyness Banda, being in her early 30s. They are peasant farmers with no sustainable income. They have three other children two girls aged 8 and 6 and one boy aged 3 years. The family lives at Chatonda village of Chief Chimwala on the border with Mozambique. The family really needs the support for the children to survive.
The children are doing fine and over the past weeks they gained weight daily.
Our aim is to support the children with milk and other supplementary feeds for the period of 12 months. The projected amount is 50,000 Kwacha (approximately 3000 pounds).
Mother in children’s ward with her 4 babies
Since last week the mother receives extra food to improve her nutritional status which will improve lactation. All 4 are out of the so called SCBU and stay with the mother in the children ward itself.
Locally received donations were used to buy brand new clothes for the babies.
Kindly help these beautiful children to survive by donating to ‘Let the children live- PROJECT Qfour’.
Funds can be channeled to the Account below, clearly indicating: ‘Let the children live- PROJECT Qfour’.
Please Note: For DONORS IN THE EU it may be easier and cheaper to transfer their donations into the account of St Francis Hospital Medical Support Group in the Netherlands: NL28INGB0003022230, indicating the project Let de children live-projectQ4. MSG will transfer the money to Zambia via INTL FC Stone, an international platform which saves a lot on the exchange rate.
