Dialysis and CT scan facilities at St Francis’ Hospital

The dialysis facility is in its own building and is built by a foundation that is working on setting up dialysis throughout Africa. St Francis’ is the first clinic for this in Zambia, but more will follow. The Dialysis Foundation takes care of the building, equipment, etc.
The CT scan is housed in the Radiology Department by a commercial company that not only supplies the CT scanner but has also adapted the building and has its own employees. So in fact the hospital sends patients to this in-house commercial company. Formerly, patients had to be sent to Mfuwe where there is also a commercial CT scan facility, but of course this was more expensive due to transport.
